To celebrate the new entrance to the Van Gogh Museum, a labyrinth of 125,000 sunflowers was built on Museumplein where inside visitors found photos, art & live perfomances. At the end of the exhibit, the public was invited to take some flowers home with them.
Hundreds of people came armed with super soakers and water pistols to battle it out to raise awareness for water conservation. Our Gessell was no exception and no one was spared until everyone's clothes were totally soaked. A young fun crowd, sunny weather and live, moving targets!

During Benches Collective Days Shoshannah & her friend made duelling guacamoles and let the visitors decide which was best. It was a California vs. Mexico showdown but what mattered most was good food with good friends. Plus a little tequila!

Gessell travels via ferry to a 17th century castle, complete with moats, bridges, towers & murder holes! For Castle Days there were special exhibitions with costumes, birds of prey & knights in shining armor. A great medieval experience just a short ride outside the city.
This monthly event encourages people to meet their neighbors by setting up a bench outside their house and hosting a mini-street gathering. Gessell & Shoshannah bench hop for the day to meet the people who host and those who visit. Great way to meet your fellow residents and mingle with the locals.
